New Kid Book New Kid is a funny and meaningful graphic novel about Jordan Banks, a seventh-grade student who loves drawing cartoons about his everyday life. Jordan dreams of going to an art school, but instead, his parents send him to a prestigious private school known for its strong academics. At his new school, Jordan is one of the few Black students in his grade. Every day, he travels from his neighborhood to the school and begins to feel caught between two different worlds. He struggles to fit in at his new school while also trying to stay close to his old friends and remain true to himself. As Jordan gets used to his new environment, he faces challenges such as racism, unfair treatment, stereotypes, and microaggressions. Through his cartoons, friendships, and experiences, he learns more about himself and the people around him. New Kid is a story about friendship, identity, belonging, and the challenges many students face when they enter a new school. It shows how difficult it can be to fit in while still being yourself. With humor, honesty, and heart, New Kid helps readers understand what it can feel like to be different in a school where most students come from different backgrounds. The story is especially relatable for middle-school students who have ever felt left out, misunderstood, or unsure about where they belong. Shipping & Delivery 1.
