Description
A Room of One's Own
A Room of One's Own is a pioneering extended essay that investigates the historical, economic, and social barriers that have limited women's contributions to literature and intellectual life. A Room of One's Own introduces the famous argument that a woman must have financial independence and a private physical space—symbolized by literal and metaphorical rooms—in order to truly write and think freely.
A Room of One's Own remains a foundational text of feminist criticism, challenging readers to consider how institutional structures shape creative freedom and whether society genuinely supports equal opportunities for women.
